Irsay was arrested for drugged/drunk driving in 2014 and later pled guilty to the charge. Toxicology reports indicated that Irsay, at the time of his arrest, had prescription drugs in his system. According to the police report, officers found various prescription drugs in his car along with more than $29,000 in cash.
There is no doubt that New Jersey’s DWI laws carry with them harsh consequences. If you are faced with this offense you consider all of your options. Unlike Pennsylvania, New Jersey maintains no diversion program for Drunk Driving offenses and a plea will not provide you with any better result than the mandatory minimum penalties stated above.
Recently, Philadelphia 76ers’ player Kelly Oubre Jr. reported to police that he sustained serious injury following an alleged hit and run in Center City Philadelphia. Police continue to investigate the incident but have yet to recover an video which corroborates his story.
